The Ideal Candidate should possess: |
|
- Knowledge/Work experience on Windows platforms (Windows 2003/2008), AD 2003/2008, especially in OS Troubleshooting (Win2k & Win2k3 & Win2k8)
- Must have worked in a Remote Server Support Environment and handled good volume of servers / Desktops.
- Good hands on experience in Hardware troubleshooting, ability to interact with Site Support / Vendor to resolve hardware issues.
- Good Hand on experience in Windows File & Print.
- Technology based skill sets in: Window applications – IIS, SQL, and AD.
- Good understanding of Domain and Domain Controller security concepts.
- Experience in providing L2 or above support and providing solutions for complex issues.
- In-depth understanding of concepts such as Active Directory Replication, Schema, Group Policies, Forest Trusts, FRS replication, AD Disaster Recovery, DFS, DNS name resolution, AD related ports, AD Administration Delegation.
- Good Knowledge of Microsoft and TCP/IP based Applications (D/DNS, DHCP, NTP, WINS).
- Windows Servers & Related Infrastructures H/W (HP Servers, TL, Tape Drives, JBOD, MSA).
- MS Clustering, Storage Basics, DR test & Planning.
- Server Management & Monitoring Tools, Automation Scripting, Exchange server, MoM / SMS server, Symantec, VMware Servers, Device security policies for changes in infrastructure.
- Perform system performance tuning, Perform application performance tuning with application team support.
- Should have expertise in backup products.
- Should have worked with Windows Resource Kit Support tools.
- Scripting knowledge such as VB Scripts, KIX etc will be an added advantage.
- Should have worked with OEM hardware (DELL/IBM/HP) & remote connectivity tools.
- Should have worked with more than one patching & antivirus tools
- Preferably having suitable Windows Certification and expertise in ITIL Practices.

- Strong knowledge of installing software within a large Citrix Farm.
- Strong knowledge of active directory concepts and configuration, i.e. need to understand membership in security groups, inherited groups, OU structure, etc.
- Knowledge of Windows Registry, including knowledge of modifying system registry to support installed applications and document configuration changes.
- Good knowledge on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000 & Windows 2003 including AD.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
